Job summary

Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC seeks Pediatric Intensive Care APPs to cover a 24-bed PICU, with patients often intubated and hemodynamically unstable. The role emphasizes first-line critical care management, pediatric code blue responses, and PICU consultation.

The schedule is primarily day shift with day/night/weekend/holiday rotation. Opportunities to perform invasive procedures and manage ventilator settings, vasopressors, and complex clinical cases.

Qualifications

• Requires DEA license and eligibility to practice as NP or PA.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent; RN licensure and board certification.
• BLS required; prescriptive authority eligibility per governing boards.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and periodic medical history, physicals and daily assessments.
• Document findings, plan of care, and interventions in medical records.
• Write prescriptions and administer medications.
• Order and interpret labs and radiology exams.
• Determine and implement treatment plans for patients.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to policy updates.
