Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Nutrition professional to manage human milk inventory, calculations and preparation for inpatients. You will use inventory software, maintain safe handling practices and collaborate with RN, lactation consultants and dietitians.

Minimum 1 year in healthcare/clinical setting with an Associate degree; BS preferred and Serv-Safe certification within 30 days. Excellent math, communication and data-analysis skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in healthcare/clinical setting (may substitute with equivalent nutrition/science education)
• Associate’s degree required
• Bachelor’s of Science preferred
• DTR/NDTR certification preferred
• Serv-Safe® certification required within 30 days of hire
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to learn computer systems
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data for clinical decisions
• Enter and verify recipes in hospital EMR

Responsabilités

• Manage Human Milk Inventory using FIFO to prevent waste
• Proactively manage milk inventory and storage conditions
• Use Human Milk Inventory software to receive, move, prepare and discharge milk
• Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance with patient information
• Communicate with bedside RN, lactation consultant, dietitian and caregivers to verify quantities and feeding orders
• Make complex clinical decisions by analyzing data from multiple sources
• Enter and verify formulas and human milk recipes in EMR
• Prepare human milk feedings using appropriate equipment and aseptic technique
• Order supplies and maintain cleanliness in Nutrition Lab
• Participate in ongoing process and quality improvement activities
