Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting seeks a Pediatric Hospitalist to join an inpatient pediatric service in Mattoon, Illinois. The position offers a ~5-on / 10-off block schedule with flexible inpatient and call rotation to support high-quality pediatric care.

The provider will manage inpatient admissions, newborn rounds, and Level II neonatology support, including high-risk deliveries. Comprehensive benefits and a collaborative, physician-led team are provided.

Qualifications

• ACGME-accredited Pediatrics residency completed; board cert/board eligible in General Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license or eligible before start.
• NRP, DEA, CSR, and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient pediatric management for admissions, nursery care, and Level II neonatology patients.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitations per protocols.
• Provide pediatric consultations for the ED and surgical services.
• Stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate transfers to tertiary centers.
• Daily rounds, admissions and discharges, and handoffs to outpatient pediatricians.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and participate in quality/safety initiatives.
