Job summary

Pediatrix Neonatology of Houston, an affiliate of Pediatrix Medical Group, is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join our growing practice at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake Hospital. The team handles inpatient pediatric floor duties and oversees PNPs in the newborn nursery.

The schedule features 15-16 shifts per month with no in-house call, while overnight home call occurs for the Pediatric Unit and Nursery two weeks per month.

Qualifications

• BC/BE Pediatrician is required.

HCA Clearlake - Pediatric Hospitalist

Practice Description

• Hospitalists cover pediatric inpatient floor and oversee PNPs who round in the newborn nursery.

Pediatric Unit

• New pediatric unit with 8 bed capacity. Accepts direct admissions from community Pediatricians. In-house from 8a-5p.
• Over-night home call for Pediatric Unit + Nursery: 2 weeks per month
• Pediatric Subspecialists - Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, General Surgery, Neurosurgery
• Additional Pediatric Services: Pediatric Emergency Room

Newborn Nursery

• Open nursery.
• Average 4000 deliveries/year with average daily census 20 newborns.
• Nursery is covered daily by 2 PNPs.
• No delivery attendance.
• No circumcisions.
• Level 3 NICU in house.
