Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group in Southeast Houston is seeking Pediatric Hospitalists for per diem assignments in a newly opened 8-bed pediatric unit serving direct admissions from community pediatricians.

Rounding with overnight home call for the Pediatric Unit and Nursery, with access to subspecialists including Cardiology, GI, ID, General Surgery, and Neurosurgery. The Level 3 NICU is on site.

Per diem travel expenses are covered; positions are W-2 and primarily on-site in Houston area.

Qualifications

• Board-certified pediatrician
• Active Texas license or IMLC
• Minimum 1 year experience post residency

Responsibilities

• Rounding with overnight home call for Pediatric Unit and Nursery
• Collaborate with Pediatric Subspecialists (Cardiology, GI, ID, General Surgery, Neurosurgery)
• Support Pediatric Emergency Room services

Job Summary

New pediatric unit with 8 bed capacity. Accepts direct admissions from community Pediatricians.

Key Responsibilities

• Rounding with over-night home call for Pediatric Unit + Nursery


• Pediatric Subspecialists - Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, General Surgery, Neurosurgery


• Additional Pediatric Services: Pediatric Emergency Room

Unit Details

• Open nursery. Average 4000 deliveries/month with average daily census 20 newborns.


• Nursery is covered daily by 2 PNPs.


• No delivery attendance. No circumcisions.


• Level 3 NICU in house.

Qualifications

• Board Certifed


• Active TX license or Active IMLC


• Minimum 1 year experience post residency

Compensation & Employment

Pediatrix does cover per diem staff travel expenses (round trip flight/rental car or mileage and lodging) for those who reside outside a commutable distance from the practice. This position is W-2.
