Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Staff Nurse in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology for a per diem night shift at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY. You will provide safe, competent nursing care, applying evidence-based practice and effective communication with patients and families.

Required: BSN, or ADN with current enrollment in a BSN program, NY RN license, BLS and PALS. Two years of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology RN experience preferred; per diem schedule.

Qualifications

• BSN is required.
• ADN with current enrollment in a BSN program is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care.
• Assess and evaluate patient care needs applying critical thinking skills.
• Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team on care plans.
• Prioritize patient care aspects including teaching and planning after hospital care.
• Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care and health promotion.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing.
• Role model the tenets of Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care.
• Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)

Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) with current enrollment in a BSN program
