Provides comprehensive care services for pediatric hematology and oncology patients. The Pediatric Oncologist leads the care team in delivering efficient and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and be accountable for the overall quality of care and clinical outcomes of pediatric hematology and oncology patients.
• Manage the physician‑patient relationship to assure patient and family satisfaction.
• Participate in system‑wide health management initiatives.
• Provide input into the practice site’s financial, clinical, and service‑quality performance, budget, capital plan, and personnel issues.
• Assist in developing and implementing clinical and service standards.
• Receive and resolve patient complaints.
• Participate in recruitment and replacement of other providers.
• Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, literature review, in‑services, and workshops.
• Consult and advise other providers regarding optimal and cost‑effective treatment of pediatric patients.
• Participate in team and multispecialty group meetings.
• Maintain coding and encounter data standards for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and reimbursement level, including legible documentation.
• Assist in leading Advanced Practice Clinicians in delivering appropriate patient education and care.
• Support COG requirements by participating in study protocols and monthly tumor boards.
• Perform other functions as required.
