Job summary

The Educator in the Hearing and Speech department at Children’s of Alabama will develop and coordinate staff orientation and training, coaching and evaluating staff, and participating in staff recruitment. The role leads quality improvement projects and in-house continuing education, while performing clinical duties for pediatric patients consistent with the health system’s mission and values.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist credential required.
Certified Speech and Language Pathologist credential preferred.
2 years of staff-level experience with specialization in audiology-speech.
Must have two full years of employment (1.0FTE) at Children’s of Alabama.

Responsibilities

Develop and coordinate staff orientation and training.
Coach, train and evaluate staff knowledge and skills.
Participate in selection of new staff.
Lead quality improvement (QI) projects and in-house continuing education for staff.
Perform clinical duties including direct and indirect patient care for pediatric patients.
