Job summary

JD McCarty Center seeks a knowledgeable Health Information Manager to lead the Health Information Department and serve as the Privacy Officer. The role oversees staff, budgeting, records management, and coding for pediatric inpatient and outpatient services.

The position emphasizes privacy compliance, coding accuracy, and collaboration with clinical, finance, IT, and leadership. On-site in Norman, OK, with a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience in health information management or closely related field.
• Knowledge of medical coding principles, documentation practices, and privacy requirements.
• Experience with electronic health record systems and departmental budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and oversee daily operations of the Health Information Department.
• Supervise staff, recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and evaluations.
• Administer departmental budget including personnel, supplies, equipment, and software.
• Oversee health information and medical records operations for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Direct and monitor coding processes for accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
• Serve as HIPAA Privacy Officer and develop privacy policies and training programs.
• Coordinate privacy education and incident investigations with leadership and IT.
