Job summary

Children’s Hospital Association is seeking a Health Data Analyst in Lenexa, KS, with a hybrid work model (three days in-office, two optional remote). You will be a domain expert in clinical coding, charge mapping, and data standards, ensuring accurate, standardized analytics for CHA member hospitals.

The role requires 5+ years in healthcare, coding certifications, and strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and data standards like HL7 and FHIR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in health informatics, HIM or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in healthcare with coding/classification or data quality improvement experience.
• RHIA, CCS, CCS‑P, CPC, CHDA, CDIP, CCDS or equivalent coding cert required; additional certifications preferred.
• Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS and coding guidelines.
• Strong understanding of HL7, UB-O4, FHIR and clinical classification systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding systems.
• Support development and maintenance of CHA’s CTC code systems.
• Review and improve hospital charge-to-CTC mappings for accuracy and completeness.
• Apply OMOP CDM and SNOMED to CHA analytic products and data models.
• Monitor regulatory updates and coding changes; communicate impacts to stakeholders.
• Identify data quality gaps and recommend improvements in terminology mapping and data capture.
• Provide guidance on coding standards and best practices to staff and member hospitals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data integrity and data submission processes.
• Assist stakeholders with coding, health data, data submission and research inquiries.
• Oversee data acquisition processes from member hospitals and remapping of legacy charges.
