Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston seeks a Pediatric Gastroenterology Physician-Scientist at Open Rank (Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor). The role blends clinical care, teaching, and research across UTMB’s campuses, with coverage in clinics, inpatient consults, and endoscopy.

The candidate will mentor learners and help develop a funded research program. The position emphasizes collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment, education of residents and medical students, and advancing pediatric care

Qualifications

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Program and Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship.
Board Certification or Eligibility in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license.
U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education.
Demonstrated clinical and/or basic science research productivity.

Responsibilities

Provide coverage in Pediatric Gastroenterology clinics (Clear Lake Campus) and inpatient consultations.
Perform endoscopy procedures and supervise medical students and residents.
Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
Assist and develop a productive funded research program within the division.
