Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse to join our Gastroenterology outpatient team. This pediatric role partners with four providers to deliver family-centered care for children with complex GI conditions.

You will educate families, coordinate care, and help manage conditions at home while reducing ER visits. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with 4/10s or 5/8s possible, and about six weeks of paid training to support your transition.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience in a hospital and/or outpatient clinic setting.
• Pediatric nursing experience required (2 years).
• Gastroenterology or experience caring for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions preferred.
• Demonstrated teamwork, strong communication, and care coordination skills.
• A passion for patient and family education and delivering exceptional pediatric care.
• Flexibility to provide coverage at other Phoenix Children’s locations as needed for staffing, PTO, and operational needs.
• New graduates are not eligible for this position.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments across age groups and conditions, developing a care plan.
• Implements plans of care following policies and guidelines.
• Provides education on health promotion and disease management.
• Coordinates care and transitions within the organization and community.
• Advocates for patients and families, guiding ambulatory service navigation.
• Monitors patient understanding and communicates progress to the care team.
• Ensures safety, infection control, and quality standards during care delivery.
• Supervises assigned staff and mentors students and new employees.
