Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of medical office experience preferred in primary care, family medicine, or pediatrics.
• Experience with medical referrals and insurance pre-certifications is a plus.
• Familiarity with EMR and medical scheduling systems.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• BLS certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary front-office representative at a school-based clinic in Portland, TN.
• Manage patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, calls, and messages.
• Verify insurance, update demographics and guarantor information, and register patients.
• Collect and post co-pays, deductibles, and balances; explain financial responsibilities.
• Coordinate referrals, pre-certifications, and appointments for specialty care and imaging.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records and perform data entry.
• Collaborate with nurse practitioner and clinical staff to coordinate care.
• Independently manage front-office tasks while clinicians serve at schools.
• Perform additional administrative duties as needed.
