Job summary

UNM Hospitals in Albuquerque seeks a pediatric pharmacist in the emergency department to support the pediatric emergency program at the level I trauma center. You will provide drug therapy consults, educate physicians and families, and help ensure safe, cost-effective medication use in inpatient and ED settings.

The role involves compounding, dispensing, and participating in CQI initiatives, with a focus on neonate to geriatric care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Pharmacists must be graduates of an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Board certification may be preferred but is nonessential.
• Pharmacist license in NM expected within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Consult with physicians and educate staff and patients about drug usage and dosing.
• Compound and dispense medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records.
• Participate in CQI and adhere to hospital policies.
