Job summary

SSM Health's Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis is hiring a registered nurse for the Emergency Department. You will provide direct nursing care, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and respond to life-threatening and complex pediatric cases during night shifts.

Requires a nursing degree and an RN license; six months of RN experience preferred. BLS and ALS certifications are expected. The role includes patient discharge planning and adherence to evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
• Six months' registered nurse experience

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients with life threatening, medically complex critical illness or diagnosis.
• Delivers highly skilled care with use of technology and complex interventions.
• Initiates measures for emergency treatment of patients including infant resuscitation and advanced life support procedures.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Applies evidence-based practice and nursing standards according to age-specific needs.
• As an SSM Health nurse, demonstrates professional nursing standards per ANA Code of Ethics.
