Job summary

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to provide direct patient care on two 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with weekend rotation as required.

The role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care and collaboration with an interprofessional team. The position requires a Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree with RN licensure in Missouri; a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• RN license in good standing and eligibility to practice in Missouri.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within standards of nursing care.
• Promote patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and families on illness, home care needs and medication administration.
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and document individual care plans with goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family.
• Proactively communicate the plan of care across the continuum of care and assess patients’ needs and values.
