Job summary
The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks candidates for the position of Pediatric Endocrinology APN in the Department of Pediatrics. This Advanced Practice Nurse role focuses on comprehensive care for pediatric patients at Peoria, IL, with eligibility for university privileges and benefits.
The APRN will provide care within scope of practice, participate in education of nursing and medical students, and collaborate with clinicians to optimize pediatric endocrine care
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice.
- Graduation from accredited APRN program.
- Current license as a Professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice.
- Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois required.
Responsibilities
- Manage the care of patients within assigned area and/or area of expertise and within parameters of medical staff privileges.
- Obtain relevant patient health history. Study and interpret patient tests and records.
- Perform physical exam and record findings.
- Prescribe/order appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and develop a treatment plan.
- Develop an educational plan for patient/family.
- Assist with scheduling of patients for upcoming procedures including coordinating with other services and completion of necessary documentation.
