Qualifications

• RN licensure in Illinois is required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Manage the care of patients within assigned area and/or area of expertise.
• Obtain relevant patient health history and interpret tests and records.
• Perform physical exams and document findings.
• Order diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic tests and develop a treatment plan.
• Prescribe/order interventions and develop a patient care plan.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and follow-up.
• Coordinate scheduling for procedures and documentation with other services.
• Order consultations and referrals as needed.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust plans with the team.
• Mentor nursing students, residents and other health care learners.
• Maintain faculty appointment to receive clinical privileges.

Education

Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice

Graduation from accredited APRN program

Current license as a Professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice
