American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ED RN for a night shift at a teaching hospital in California. Requirements include CA RN license, BSN, PALS/BLS/ACLS, and Epic charting proficiency. Travel experience and references are required for consideration.

Responsibilities include caring for general and pediatric ED patients in a Level I/II Trauma Center, with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, 3x12 hour nights, and potential float to UCSF facilities within 75+ miles.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission.
• BSN required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS; TNCC preferred.
• CEN/CPEN and ENPC certifications preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Experience in both general and pediatric ED settings required.
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Pediatric trauma experience preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Emergency Department of a teaching hospital.
• Combined general and pediatric ED patient population.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with variable shift days.
• Epic charting system required.
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed.
• Provide emergency nursing care across general and pediatric trauma cases in a Level I/II Trauma Center.
• Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction.
• Recognize and report signs of abuse, neglect, or violence as part of professional responsibilities.
• All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional requests accepted mid-contract and none allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment.
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers.
• Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work together on the same unit.
