UnityPoint Health's Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, IA, seeks a Pediatric Emergency Department RN for a part-time night shift (7pm–7:30am) with every fourth weekend and holiday rotation. The newly designed ED supports family-centered care with dedicated trauma capabilities and a multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists.

You will provide high-quality nursing care to birth through age 17, collaborate with physicians, child life specialists, social workers, and subspecialists, and

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or IA Board of Nursing approved program.
• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
• Minimum of twelve months acute RN experience.
• Newly licensed RNs or RNs with less than 12 months of acute RN experience may apply to this department or others

Responsabilités

• Assesses the needs of patients and families, providing teaching and making referrals for continuity of care.
• Develops an individualized plan of care using a collaborative approach with patient/family and health care team.
• Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
• Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process per policies, procedures and standards of care.
• Utilizes a holistic approach considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria for the patient age group.
• Delegates and provides direction for other healthcare team members within their scope of practice.
• Uses critical thinking in developing nursing interventions and remaining accountable for patient conditions

Formation

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program
