Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital's Emergency Medicine Department delivers 24-hour pediatric emergency care for infants to 21-year-olds. The role supports clinicians, handles routine measurements, records information, and transports patients and supplies.

The position operates on a 36-hour schedule with rotating days and every other weekend. Requires a High School diploma and either 1 year CA experience, or CNA/MA/PCT/EMT certification, or active nursing student with clinical rotations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year acute care experience or appropriate certs (CNA/MA/PCT/EMT) or active nursing student.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic direct care to patients under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, and routine measurements (temp, pulse, BP).
• Obtain records and inputs into computer systems for appointments.
• Perform general office support tasks.
• Assist clinicians during examinations and transport patients, supplies, and equipment.
• Work 36 hours with rotating days and every other weekend.
