Job summary

Emory University invites applications for a Pediatric ECMO/Research Fellowship. This 1–2 year clinical and research program offers multi-disciplinary mentorship across Pediatric Surgery, Neonatology, and Critical Care, focusing on ECMO patient care from pre-ECMO evaluation through decannulation.

The fellowship includes rotations in NICU, PICU, cardiac ICU/perfusion, and palliative care, with ECMO simulations and dedicated research. Salary is commensurate with PGY level.

Qualifications

• The fellowship is non-ACGME and best suited for PGY-5+ general surgery residents.
• Candidates should be prepared for clinical and research duties in pediatric ECMO.
• Fellows participate in didactics, simulations, and leadership activities.

Responsibilities

• Co-manage respiratory failure ECMO patients in NICU/PICU.
• Learn cannulation, ECMO care, and decannulation processes.
• Lead ECMO M&M discussions and give in-service lectures.
• Attend ECMO leadership meetings and participate in program development.
• Engage in ECMO simulations and quality improvement projects.
• Participate in clinical research and present at national conferences.
