Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital Children’s Center seeks an ECMO Specialist to deliver advanced clinical care in ECMO, ECLS, VAD, and respiratory support for critically ill patients. You will be a key clinical and technical resource for ECMO equipment and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists to ensure safe, high-quality care.

You will participate in committees, mentor staff, and support research to advance the ECMO program at Johns Hopkins.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy or related field and NBRC credential required.
• Completion of comprehensive ECMO training following ELSO standards or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of age-specific critical care experience.
• Current state Respiratory Care Practitioner license and NBRC credential required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical expertise in ECMO, ECLS, VAD, and respiratory care.
• Serve as clinical and technical resource for ECMO equipment with interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in unit-based committees, mentor staff, and support ECMO program research.
• Contribute to development of best practices and evidence-based care.
