Job summary

Connecticut Children's in Hartford is seeking an experienced dialysis nurse to provide general and specialized care for pediatric patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, including apheresis, in ambulatory and inpatient settings.

The role uses a primary nurse model, reports to the Dialysis Center Nurse Manager, collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, and participates in quality and safety initiatives, education, and on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• ASN/ADN required upon hire; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Connecticut or Nursing Compact required.
• BSN preferred within 3 years if not held at hire.

Responsibilities

• CLINICAL PRACTICE - Provides nursing care per ANA standards in dialysis/infusion settings.
• POPULATION SPECIFIC - Pediatric nephrology knowledge and dialysis therapies.
• UNIT LEADERSHIP - Serve as Charge Nurse and support leadership activities.
• DOCUMENTATION/COMMUNICATION - Timely, accurate care documentation and handoffs.
• PATIENT/FAMILY EDUCATION - Educate families; advocate for patients and families.
• CONNECTICUT CHILDREN’S STANDARDS - Align with organizational standards.
