Job summary

Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, CT is seeking a Dialysis Center- Registered Nurse - Per Diem to deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients with AKD/CKD requiring dialysis. The role follows a primary nurse model and reports to the Nurse Manager of the Dialysis Center.

Responsibilities include clinical practice, patient/family education, on-call coverage as needed, documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• ASN/ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Dialysis experience preferred.
• Pediatric care knowledge expected.
• Water purification standards/AAMI guidelines familiarity encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide general and specialized nursing care to pediatric dialysis patients.
• Operate within the primary nurse model and coordinate with the Dialysis Center team.
• Lead unit activities as Charge Nurse when assigned.
• Document care plans, treatments and patient status accurately and timely.
• Participate in on-call coverage as needed.
• Educate patients and families about dialysis procedures and home care as appropriate.
