Job summary

Wilmington Kids Dental is seeking a compassionate Dental Assistant to join our pediatric team. You’ll work chairside with dentists, assist with procedures, take radiographs, and help deliver a welcoming, patient-centered experience for children and families.

Qualifications

• DA certificate required (CDA, DA I or DA II).
• North Carolina Radiation Certification or DANB Radiation Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Work chairside with dentists to support high-quality patient care.
• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
• Assist with procedures including impressions, extractions, and fillings.
• Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene (brushing, flossing, nutrition).
• Review medical histories, take vitals (blood pressure and pulse), and update records.
• Help children feel comfortable and confident before, during, and after treatment.
• Provide post-treatment care instructions to patients and families.
