Job summary

Virginia Family Dentistry is seeking a Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our West End Specialty team in Richmond, VA. The position offers hourly pay and a full suite of benefits, with typical hours 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday.

The role requires x-ray and BLS certifications, and a willingness to work closely with doctors, staff, and patients while maintaining clinical protocols and efficient scheduling.

Qualifications

• X-ray certification required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to the dentists.
• Take x-rays.
• Stock, organize, and disinfect operatories.
• Ensure instrument sterilization and proper infection control protocol.
• Review the doctor’s schedule daily, set up and prepare for patient appointments with needed supplies, lab cases, implants and other necessary items.
• Input treatment plan given by the doctor.
• Keep the schedule on time and communicate with the front desk.
• Maintain a lab tracking system to ensure all lab work is ready for the patients’ appointment.
• Ordering and unpacking supplies.
• Collaborate with the doctor scheduler on schedules and maintaining the unscheduled list by following up with the patients and needed treatment.
• Help the administrative staff as needed.
