Job summary

Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics of Winter Park is seeking a Pediatric Dental Assistant to support the clinical team in a team-based Winter Park, FL office. The role involves room preparation, sterilization, and assisting dentists during procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include patient education on oral hygiene, taking and developing X-rays, maintaining models and records, and upholding infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or six months of on-the-job experience with documentation.
• X-Ray and Nitrous Oxide certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Education

Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program

Six months on-the-job experience (with supporting documentation)

High school diploma or equivalent

Tools

X-Ray certification
