Main Street Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics of Orange City in Orange City, FL is hiring a Dental Assistant to support clinical staff and ensure high-quality patient care. The role emphasizes room preparation, instrument sterilization, and assisting during procedures.

Qualified candidates have a one-year certified dental assistant program or at least six months of on-the-job experience, plus X-Ray certification and CPR training.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• Six months on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation).
• X-Ray certification.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
