Job summary

Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics of Orange City is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to support the clinical team in a patient‑centered environment. The role emphasizes high‑quality care, charting, and safe infection control within a team that values collaboration.

The candidate should have prior dental assisting experience, X‑ray certification, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• Six months on-the-job experience with supporting documentation.
• X-Ray certification is required.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical support: prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient care: welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & diagnostics: take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & safety: ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
• Assist dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies as needed (CPR certification, emergency supplies).
