Job summary

St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a caring and energetic Dental Assistant to join our team and help create healthy smiles for children.

You will work alongside our pediatric dentists to provide a welcoming, safe, and positive experience for every patient and family. Responsibilities include assisting during procedures, preparing rooms and instruments, taking X-rays, sterilizing equipment, educating patients and parents, and ensuring efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• Pediatric dental experience is a plus, but not required.
• Dental Assistant certification or applicable state requirements preferred.
• Experience with dental X-rays and clinical procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures and treatments.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care.
• Help children feel comfortable, safe, and excited about visiting the dentist.
• Take dental X-rays and maintain accurate patient records as permitted by applicable requirements.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection-control and safety standards.
• Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support an efficient patient flow throughout the day.
• Communicate warmly and professionally with patients, parents, doctors, and fellow team members.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment.
• Jump in where needed to support the team and create an exceptional patient experience.
