Job summary

Family Healthcare of Hagerstown is seeking a Dental Assistant to join the clinical team. Under direct supervision by a licensed dentist, you will perform chair side and clinical duties, operate x-ray equipment, and prepare operatories for patients.

You will support the dental team and help maintain high standards of patient care in a busy setting. You will record data in electronic dental records, assist with procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and completion of a Dental Assistant Program with national accreditation.
• Minimum 1–2 years of dental assistant experience with pediatric exposure preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and DANB/MD x-ray certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist with dental procedures and patient care.
• Record data in the patient’s electronic dental record with accuracy.
• Take radiographs per Maryland standards and ensure safety and patient comfort.
• Maintain aseptic technique and sterilize instruments between patients.
• Prepare and stock operatories and manage lab cases.
• Respond to emergencies and support the dental team as needed.
