Job summary

Western Wayne Family Health Center is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide chair-side support, prepare materials, and assist with X-ray imaging in a Federally Qualified Health Center setting.

You will sterilize instruments, handle basic laboratory duties, and maintain patient records while contributing to a patient-focused care team. Strong attention to infection control and communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Completion of a one-year dental assisting program preferred.
• Two years of dental assistant experience in a clinic is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist chair-side by delivering instruments, materials, and medications.
• Prepare restorative materials and medications for procedures.
• Sterilize instruments using autoclave or cold sterilization techniques.
• Perform basic laboratory tasks: impressions, models, prosthetic work as directed.
• Take and process dental radiographs; label and file X-ray images.
• Maintain inventory of instruments and supplies; restock as needed.
• Document treatment data and maintain patient records accurately.
• Answer phones and schedule patient appointments; coordinate workflow.
• Order necessary dental supplies and support clinic operations.
