Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the CVOR to provide high-quality pediatric cardiovascular operating room care. The role requires 2+ years of RN experience with strong CVOR/OR background and current Illinois licensure.

Pediatric experience is a plus; training will be provided for transitioning from adult CV to pediatric settings. BSN is preferred; ADN is accepted with commitment to obtaining BSN.

Qualifications

• RN with current Illinois licensure required.
• CVOR and/or OR RN experience strongly preferred.
• Pediatric experience is a plus; training provided for transition from adult CV.
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted with BSN commitment.
• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments using area-specific tools.
• Develop and update plans of care with family goals; document changes.
• Teach plans/protocols to meet patient and family learning needs.
• Provide nursing care per procedures and protocols; respond to emergencies.
• Communicate with family and interprofessional team; coordinate referrals.
• Stay current with nursing practice using evidence-based literature.
• Incorporate hospital quality initiatives into daily activities.
• Maintain professional image and service standards aligned with hospital mission.
• Work as a cooperative team member to achieve unit goals.
• Identify learning needs and pursue resources to advance practice.
• Follow Magnet principles and create an inclusive, safe environment.
• Be familiar with disinfection/sterilization protocols as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
