Job summary
HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s in Denver seeks a Pediatric CVOR Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for pediatric cardiovascular procedures. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to ensure safe care across the surgical continuum.
The role requires BCLS/ACLS and PALS within 60 days, active RN licensure, and at least 1 year CVOR experience.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 60 days
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 days
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- Registered Nurse Associate Degree or Diploma required
- 1+ year CVOR experience required
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients prior to surgery
- Provide patient and family education about the procedure and peri-operative process
- Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification
- Participate in surgical site verification per hospital policy
- Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices
- Work as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team
- Apply the nursing process with critical thinking and leadership
- Monitor patient condition and document changes during the shift
- Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up
