Job summary

CHOC Specialists in Orange County, CA seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join the Critical Care CVICU team. The NP will provide clinical expertise in pediatric cardiac intensive care, manage care for postoperative and catheterization patients, and work within a family-centered care environment.

Qualifications

• California licensed and certified NP required.
• At least two years of bedside nursing in direct pediatric cardiovascular intensive care.
• At least one year of clinical pediatric NP experience required.
• Excellent communication skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and treat cardiac medical patients in the CVICU.
• Manage pre- and post-operative/catheterization cardiac care.
• Develop and implement care plans for CVICU patients.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary cardiac team.
• Educate patients and their families about plans of care.
