Job summary

Shriners Children’s is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a part-time role in Lexington, VA. The CMA will support clinic operations by performing clinical, clerical, and technical duties, including patient rooming, vitals, and assisting with procedures.

Requirements include CMA certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA) and Basic Life Support within 90 days. Prior pediatric/ambulatory care experience is preferred. BLS is required within months of hire.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification – acceptable certifications include CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA. Certification required where mandated; preferred where not mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required within 30-90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients from waiting rooms to exam rooms and verify demographics.
• Obtain vitals (height, weight, temperature, pulse, BP) and assist with procedures.
• Support Telehealth services and assist with clerical tasks as needed.
