Job summary

Galen Medical Group in Chattanooga seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to float among five pediatric providers. The role requires pediatric experience and familiarity with immunization schedules; this is a full-time position with a patient-centered team.

You will prepare patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, manage referrals and testing, and ensure accurate entry in the EHR while maintaining HIPAA and OSHA standards. Strong customer service and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• CMA from a nationally accredited program required.
• One year of related medical assistant experience if CMA program not completed.
• 1-3 years’ clinical medical assistant experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.
• Immunization schedules knowledge for pediatrics.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with providers to determine patient needs and assist with quality medical care.
• Verifies patient information, records medical history, and confirms visit purpose.
• Prepares patients for examination and records vitals.
• Collects data and ensures accurate entry into the patient's EHR.
• Maintains examination/treatment rooms and sterilizes instruments.
• Assists providers with minor procedures and schedules tests/referrals.
• Performs ancillary testing (EKG, spirometry, etc.) and triages calls per protocol.
• Performs pre-certification and processes prescription refills.
• Adheres to HIPAA and OSHA standards and participates in quality improvement.
