Job summary

Duke University Health System - Duke Primary Care in Brier Creek Medicine Pediatrics seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team in Durham, NC. The CMA will support both administrative and clinical duties in a busy pediatric clinic.

Open position emphasizes collaboration with physicians and nurses to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate records, and high-quality care for children and families. Regular hours in a health-system setting with relocation considerations possible.

Qualifications

• Education pathways target CMA certification levels I–III with required high school or GED.
• Certification requirements include AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA and BLS.
• Clinical duties include history taking, vital signs, specimen collection and patient care assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical and nursing staff in examinations and procedures.
• Prepare patients for exams and confirm appointments.
• Manage medical records, insurance forms and billing support.
• Administer medications as directed and handling telephone prescriptions.
