Job summary

Duke Primary Care-Cary is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical operations in a busy pediatrics clinic. The CMA will assist physicians and nursing staff, take patient histories and vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and ensure smooth workflow in a high-volume practice.

Responsibilities include administrative tasks, medical record updates, lab coordination, and medication administration as directed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred (Level I).
• CAAHEP/ABHES accreditation strongly preferred for Levels II/III; high school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and manage patient records.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate admissions; arrange labs and tests.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures; assist physician during visits.
• Take vital signs and record patient information; perform basic lab tests.
