Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires Florida RN license and pediatric care experience.
• BSN is mandatory for the role.
• Certification within 12 months of hire is required.
• Basic leadership and supervision skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Provides and supervises direct patient care including patient assignment as appropriate.
• Serves as unit charge nurse and conducts staff scheduling.
• Reviews major operational patient care issues with Nurse Manager regularly.
• Performs ongoing clinical evaluation of nurses and other care staff.
• Collaborates with Nursing Supervisor on unit issues.
• Counsels staff on performance, initiates corrective actions, and monitors attendance.
• Alerts Nurse Manager to significant clinical or performance issues.
• Participates in interviewing and performance appraisal of employees.
• Assists in quality improvement projects and research initiatives.
