Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Clinical Scientist Assistant II in General Pediatrics, based in Nashville. You will provide scientific oversight across pediatric obesity prevention studies and coordinate administrative leadership for federally funded and foundation-supported projects.

You’ll supervise staff, manage regulatory activities, contribute to grants and publications, and help align laboratory priorities with program goals.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required with at least three years of relevant research experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and operational oversight for multiple ongoing research projects.
• Direct implementation of funded research protocols, ensuring milestones and deliverables.
• Oversee regulatory activities, including IRB submissions and compliance with sponsor regulations.
• Monitor recruitment, data collection quality, and project performance metrics.
• Coordinate activities among investigators, collaborators, and research staff to ensure success of funded objectives.
• Lead staff meetings and supervise research personnel; manage day-to-day laboratory operations.
• Prepare grant applications, progress reports, and dissemination products; support manuscripts and presentations.
