Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to promote pharmaceutical care within a fast-paced pediatric and adult setting. You will manage the medication process, identify and resolve drug-related problems, and perform duties of a registered pharmacist, with care tailored to patients from newborns to adults.

The role emphasizes patient education, safety systems, and collaboration with technicians and the health team to ensure high-quality medication use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy is required.
• RPH certification from the state of Texas is required.
• 2+ years hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred.
• 20 hours of sterile compounding training accreditation by ACPE or ASHP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures medications meet the highest standards.
• Participates in the education of patients, caregivers, and the community.
• Supports patient safety systems.
• Checks all available means of communication including e-mail, mailbox, and voicemail every shift.
• Ensures the smooth running of the pharmacy and acts as a role model for technicians and other pharmacists as evidenced by lack of complaints, medication incident reports, and peer review.
• Maintains investigational drug records according to departmental policy.
• Contribute to the medication management process.
• Conduct discharge medication review and counseling, ensuring patients/caregivers understand their medication therapies upon discharge.
• Participates in study initiation, maintenance and closure.
