Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX, seeks a Pharmacist Clinical Specialist to lead medication management, collaborate with medical and nursing teams, and implement evidence-based protocols.

You will train staff, precept students, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive quality improvement projects while supporting patient care across the department. The role requires Texas licensure, PharmD or BS, PGY1/PGY2 residency or board cert, and BLS/ACLS within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy required; TX license at time of hire.
• Minimum 3 years' pharmacist experience; hospital setting preferred.
• PGY1/PGY2 residency or Board Certification strongly preferred.
• ACLS and PALS required or to be completed within 60 days of hire.
• Sterile IV compounding certification and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Act as expert medication management team member with providers.
• Train and cover pharmacist shifts to maintain operations.
• Lead pharmacy team initiatives; resolve workflow issues.
• Collaborate to resolve medication-related issues and document outcomes.
• Educate prescribers and healthcare professionals; precept students.
