Qualifications

  • Pharmacist degree and Texas RPH license required.
  • 2+ years hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred.
  • 20 hours of sterile compounding training (ACPE/ASHP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures medications meet the highest standards.
  • Educates patients, caregivers, and the community.
  • Supports patient safety systems.
  • Checks all communications (email, mailbox, voicemail) every shift.
  • Acts as a role model for technicians and other pharmacists.
  • Maintains investigational drug records per policy.
  • Contributes to the medication management process.
  • Conducts discharge medication reviews and counseling for patients and caregivers to ensure understanding of therapies on discharge.
  • Participates in study initiation, maintenance and closure.
  • Undergoes respiratory fit testing as required by safety standards.

RPH certification from the state of Texas
