Job summary

Pediatrics Plus is seeking a Classroom Lead Teacher to manage the classroom, assess children, and support development through individualized plans. You will guide Teaching Assistants and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and a proactive approach to safeguarding children’s well-being while maintaining compliance with licensing and clinic policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CDA preferred
• Experience in a classroom setting with developmentally at-risk children preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the classroom
• Assess each EIDT child in his/her classroom using the proper assessment tool
• Assist in the development of each child’s Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP)
• Review the ITP and makes suggestions of changes to the Curriculum Coordinator
• Ensurethat the ITP is implemented to maximize the treatment of the children served
• Referchildren for additional clinical services as needed, in collaboration with the director and any other appropriate administrative staff
• Ensurethat required reports are updated, completed and turned in on time
• Ensurethe completion of classroom billing via deTASO
• Ensurethat visual supervision of the children is maintained at all times
• Maintain an environment conducive to preventative discipline
• Speak in a well modulated, pleasant and caring voice to children, parents and staff
• Attendand actively participates in job-related center functions
• Representthe program to parents, visitors and the public in a positive way
• Ensurethat a clean, safe, healthy and sanitary learning environment is maintained
• During periods of physical activity, maintain active involvement with children to promote gross and fine motor development
• Immediately report health and safety concerns to the Assistant Director or Nurse
• Complete hours of in-service trainings per fiscal year
• Familiar with policies and regulations including EIDT and AR Health Department
• Display concern for the rights of children and families served by the clinic
• Report for work dressed appropriately and comply with dress code
• Ensure confidentiality of children and employee information
• May perform housekeeping/janitorial functions
• May perform other related duties, as assigned
• Complete tasks in a timely manner
