Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Child & Adolescent Unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. This full-time night-shift role involves hands-on pediatric patient care in a 110-bed unit serving birth to age 21, with collaboration across a multidisciplinary care team.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and BLS CPR certification; one year of patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association required.
• At least one year of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provided safe, age-appropriate patient care and assisted with activities of daily living.
• Monitored vital signs, weights, intake/output and reported significant changes to nursing staff.
• Assisted with treatments, dressing changes, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and physician examinations.
• Provided one-to-one patient observation and responded to emergencies as needed.
• Collaborated with nurses, physicians and interdisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care.
