Job summary

You will act as a liaison among patients, families, outpatient clinics, primary care physicians, and hospital services, preparing authorizations and supporting clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; one year of college preferred.
• Minimum one year of working with pediatric patients preferred.
• Minimum one year experience in a medical office front office setting and/or a hospital-based call center that schedules for multiple clinics or department.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate access of patients through the healthcare system from initial diagnosis or point of referral.
• Gather demographic, employment, and insurance data necessary for registration and verifies insurance coverage and benefits.
• Gathers needed medical information, including diagnostic procedures and progress notes; acts as liaison between patients, families, clinics, physicians, and hospital services.
• Requesting authorization for specific services as ordered by providers.
• Assists with patients in the clinic environment and supports department operations.
• Performs other duties as needed in alignment with HOPD strategy and mission.
