Job summary

Akron Children's in Ohio seeks a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine specialist to join our multidisciplinary PICU team. The 45-bed unit includes a dedicated cardiac critical care area and serves high-acuity patients, including ECMO cases.

You will work with 13 pediatric intensivists and 16 advanced practice providers in a collaborative, child-centered environment. Requirements include MD or DO, board eligibility/certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, fellowship in cardiac intensive

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required, board eligibility/certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
• Additional fellowship training in cardiac intensive care medicine is expected.
• Ability to obtain an active Ohio medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a high-acuity PICU including medical, cardiothoracic surgery and ECMO patients.
• Collaborate with a team of intensivists and advanced practice providers to deliver patient-centered care.
• Contribute to research and ongoing clinical improvement within a level 1 trauma center.

The Hospital is a level 1 trauma center, and the intensivists serve as the medical control physician for a large regional transport service.

Requirements include MD or DO degree, board eligibility/board certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, additional fellowship training in cardiac intensive care medicine and the ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Ohio.
