Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital in Northeast Ohio seeks a Pediatric Critical Care physician to join our PICU team. You will care for critically ill children in a state-of-the-art, 45-bed PICU with opportunities in research and leadership.

Board-certified/eligibility in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine with fellowship training in cardiac intensive care is required; Ohio medical licensure will be pursued. Strong collaboration and commitment to family-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold MD or DO and be board eligible/certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
• Fellowship training in cardiac intensive care medicine required.
• Ability to obtain Ohio medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric critical care in the PICU setting.
• Collaborate with ICU team and families to deliver patient-centered care.
• Support ECMO patients and complex cardiac cases as part of multidisciplinary team.
• Lead patient care discussions and contribute to research initiatives.

The Hospital is a level 1 trauma center, and the intensivists serve as the medical control physician for a large regional transport service.

Requirements include MD or DO degree, board eligibility/board certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, additional fellowship training in cardiac intensive care medicine and the ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Ohio.
